Join the CPGC, faculty, and students Friday, April 14, at 7:00 pm in the Bryn Mawr Room of the Dining Center for the annual publicly engaged scholar presentations.
The
publicly Engaged scholar Award recognizes community-engaged, relevant,
and applied thesis work that advances understanding and action to
address injustice.
Five
senior students are presenting on their senior thesis research which
advances understanding and action for peace, social justice, or global
citizenship, is inspired by questions emerging with and from people most
affected by the justice/injustice question under consideration, and /
or is presented & disseminated in a manner conscious of inclusive
and accessible knowledge mobilization. Students will be offering
overviews of their research in the form of 5-minute Ignite Talks.
This will be a wonderful opportunity to explore the possibilities for
advancing inquiry into justice work through expansive use of their
respective scholarly disciplines. One student will be selected for the
award: a $500 prize and recognition in the commencement program.
The five student presenters for 2023 are:
-
Natasha Bansal (Political Science/Spanish Major)
-
Anna Garrison-Bedell (Sociology/Spanish Major)
-
Natalie Masetti (Psychology Major)
-
Rubi Rivas (Biology/Spanish Major)
-
Naren Roy (Anthropology Major)
