VCAbyient Session # 13: “Smooth Sailing” with Aby Isakov '24
Wednesday, February 1, 2023
12pm
VCAM Lounge
R'n'B has always been a genre that moves my body and soul and has my heart grooving. This VcAbyient session brings in songs that range from the 1970s to the present time, from Marvin Gaye to Erykah Badu to Anderson Paak. The emotionally charged lyrical compositions along with the blending of different instruments, synthesizers, electronic keyboards, and bassy sax-y tones make R'n'B a foundational art form. Come through to be swept away by its hypnotic rhythms and carressed by its comforting and silky melodies. –Aby Isakov '24
VCAMbient is a weekly curated series in which music–played live or via recordings by members of the Bi-Co community–will play at low volume Wednesdays noon-1pm in the VCAM Lounge.
Interested? You can propose to play someone else’s music, or (even better) your own, as long as the volume level is kept low. Contact Hurford Center Director Gus Stadler at gstadler [at] haverford.edu with your idea for a VCAMbient session.
