Brigid Isackman Appointed Asst. VP, Controller, and Associate Treasurer of Haverford College

Haverford College has appointed Brigid Isackman as Assistant Vice President, Controller and Associate Treasurer, effective June 15, 2022. She is currently the Interim Chief Financial and Operating Officer at the University of the Sciences.
Isackman brings 30 years of experience in college and university financial administration and is a respected professional within the higher education business officer community. “The search committee noted that Brigid’s deep higher education experience and expertise, Workday knowledge and many other impressive attributes were equaled by her commitment to teamwork, exceptional colleague (customer) service, transparency, and to the institution’s mission,” said Megan Fitch, Chief Information Officer and a member of the campus committee that managed the search. “I think she's going to be a terrific partner with us across campus and will be a great team leader.”
At the University of the Sciences, Isackman rose from Associate Controller to AVP of Finance and Controller before being appointed to her current position. She led the institution’s successful Workday implementation of its student, HCM, payroll, and finance systems. Working collaboratively, she and her team forged significant process improvement, value-added problem solving, efficiency gains, and team development. In addition to numerous Controller office functions, she also led finance, operational and capital budgeting, bond financings, grant policies as well as serving on critical leadership committees including its Middle States Steering and Efficiency committees. Her higher education service includes active involvement with the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO), the Eastern Association of College and University Business Officers (EACUBO), and as a Peer Evaluator for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE).

After earning her bachelor of science degree in accounting from Temple University, Isackman earned an MBA from St. Joseph’s University and, early in her professional career, served in various financial and analytical capacities at St. Joseph’s.
At Haverford, she will be a strategic financial leader for the College and oversee teams that manage the College’s student accounts, payroll, sourcing and business services, and accounting which also includes accounting related to planned gifts, grants, capital projects, endowment accounting, and financial and tax reporting. Further, Isackman will oversee other debt and treasury management functions as well as all other College payables and receivables. Isackman will work directly with the College's Board of Managers via its Audit and Risk Management and Finance committees.
