On Wednesday, August 26, we officially welcomed the newest members of the Haverford community—the Class of 2019—to campus. But Move-In Day, which once again featured an appearance by the College’s elusive Black Squirrel, was only the beginning. It served as the kick off to Customs, the College’s first-year orientation program. For five days, leading up to the first day of classes, new Fords explore the College, get to know their classmates, and begin to create their own community at events that include a tea highlighting different academic departments, a barbecue with their Bryn Mawr counterparts, an evening with a hypnotist, a trust walk, and the traditional Dorm Olympics.

Here’s just a brief look at how Haverford’s newest students spent their busy first few days on campus.
