Three Ways to Give Back to Haverford Before You Leave Campus

Before you go, there are three things you can do right now to make a difference and give back to the Haverford community.

With the semester nearing its conclusion, it’s once again time for Fords to pack up their things and leave campus for summer break. But before you go, there are three things you can do right now to make a difference and give back to the Haverford community.

Donate Your Meal Swipes

Leftover meal swipes from the semester don’t have to go to waste! Before you leave campus, please consider donating your unused meal swipes to students facing food insecurity this summer. Meal swipes will be collected until Monday, May 15. To review your meal and campus cash balance, log in here. Use this link to donate your swipes.

Donate Your Bike

This one is most applicable for graduating Fords. If you are considering leaving your college bike behind, think about donating it to Haverford Cycling Club or Committee for Environmental Responsibility. They’ll make sure that future Haverford students can continue to use it. If bikes are left abandoned on campus, Campus Safety requires a year-long process before they can be donated. By then they are often not in good shape to reuse. Contact: hc-cer@haverford.edu

Donate Your Dorm Items to the Haverford (RE)Uses

Give your unwanted and unneeded dorm items a chance at a second life by donating them to Haverford (RE)Uses, a sustainable initiative with the goal of reducing our carbon footprint on campus. And there’s actually no rush on donating your items to the (RE)use store. You can donate items throughout the year, not just at the end of the semester.

And in addition to giving stuff, you can also give your time and volunteer at the (RE)use store. Volunteers will be welcome to assist with cleanup Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday following Commencement (May 15, 16, 18, and 19). If you would like to volunteer to assist with dorm item collection or have any questions, please email jciborowsk@haverford.edu.
