Haverford (RE)uses is a sustainable initiative with the goal of reducing our carbon footprint on campus.
This can be done by diverting waste from landfills and reducing the need for new purchases (and the accompanying packaging). Through the (RE)use initiative students are encouraged to give their unwanted items a new life by donating them to be used by others. Our initiative involves a (RE)use store, as well as, partnerships with Haverford’s food pantry and GreenDrop.
It is governed by the Committee for Environmental Responsibility (CER) and currently staffed by volunteers, student workers, and the Arboretum Program Coordinator. Additional support comes from the President’s Office and the Council for Sustainability and Social Responsibility (CSSR).
You do not need to make an appointment to drop off your belongings during move-out. Please bring all donations either directly to the (RE)use Store in Comfort or to the Collection Truck on Hannum Drive in HCA. See the calendar above for collection dates and times.
Bring your donations to the large truck on Hannum drive and check-in with the attendant on duty. They will assist you in sorting your donations into the proper bin.
Enter through the main door of Comfort and proceed down the stairwell to the basement. The One Card Reader will accept all student IDs during the drop-off hours. Once in the basement, there will be a collection attendant on duty to assist you with dropping off your items in the designated areas. Please note all fridges must go directly to Comfort Hall.
Comfort Residence Hall:
Change the copy to "The (RE)use Store is located in the basement of Comfort. Please use your one card to enter the building and come directly down the stairs and around the corner to the (RE)use Store. If the door is locked please email hc-reuse [at] haverford.edu.
