What is your current job?
Co-Founder of Culintro.com, a restaurant organization based in NYC and SF with over 30,000 industry professionals that consist of chefs, management, owners, operators, media, PR, and hospitality architects. Culintro is an active community of influencers that deliver opportunities that matter including a job board, industry news, networking parties, and educational events. My role at the company is to oversee its growth, manage a team, strategize membership recruitment, organize and execute events, sell sponsorships and advertisements, maintain editorial on the blog, and develop and maintain strong relationships within the restaurant community.
Why did you choose this profession?
I was working at Gourmet magazine for four years before I realized that there wasn't a central community for restaurant professionals to advance their careers. I always wanted to develop my own business that spoke to my passion and helped others.
What more do you wish to accomplish in your professional career?
I want Culintro.com to continue growing into new US markets and expand Internationally as well. I want this company to serve as a gateway to all professionals to start a career as well as advance their careers.
Tell us about a decision or change you made that turned out to be a positive career move.
I met my business partner who helped put words into actions. We developed a business plan, raised two rounds of funding, and developed a website that now operates as the hub of our community.
How has Haverford influenced your professional career?
Haverford taught me to think outside of the box. I would have never thought to start a company let alone rally an entire industry together without the skill sets and confidence that I developed in college. If you work hard, and put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything.
