Developments & Updates
After a successful partnership with Haverford Athletics students and staff and A Long Talk, the IDEA Office expanded the offering into a college-wide program. There will be monthly opportunities for staff, students, and faculty at any level of previous engagement in DEIA work to participate in this workshop, built upon responses to a variety of media resources, a pair of group conversations, and continuing programming, designed to activate antiracism.
The Challenge Habit launched for all faculty and staff in February 2022, and is an opportunity for Haverford staff and faculty to learn about antiracism and actively engage in its practice at each individual’s capacity to do so. This project will include weekly microactions and monthly discussions.
In spring 2021, a campus-wide 21-Day Racial Equity Challenge for staff and faculty had over 170 participants; Haverford joined the inaugural cohort of LACRELA, and has been able to make their resources available to staff and faculty; senior leadership has participated in multiple workshops. Going forward, the THRIVE initiative (launched Spring 2021) will originate and administer faculty/staff enrichment and awareness-building activities such as workshops, webinars, and symposia.
