Additional Course Info | Class Number: 2624 A close analytical reading of selected texts from 17th-century European philosophy. Particular attention is given to Descartes Meditations on First Philosophy and to Spinoza s Ethics. Emphasis is upon an interpretive understanding of the theories of these texts concerning human consciousness and cognition, as well as of their more general theories concerning the nature of human beings in the world.
