Additional Course Info | Class Number: 2301 This course focuses on educational policies and practices related to language minority students in the U. S. We examine English learners’ diverse experiences, educators’ approaches to working with linguistically diverse students, programs that address their strengths and needs, links between schools and communities, and issues of policy and advocacy. Fieldwork required.; Prerequisite(s): EDUC 200 or instructor consent; Enrollment Limit: 18; Lottery Preference(s): Priority to students pursuing a minor in Educational Studies or teacher certification Social Science, B: Analysis of the Social World (Hav: SO, B) Fieldwork in a school setting is an essential component of EDUC 275. Accordingly, in order to register, students are required to register for a field placement “lab-time.” While the fieldwork requirement for this course is 2 hours, we ask for you to reserve a four-hour block one day per week to ensure that you have adequate time for transportation to and from your field site.
