Not all topics are open to first year students.; Current topic description: This course will provide an introduction to some of the mathematical techniques used in actuarial work and will give an overview of some of the areas in which actuaries are currently involved. Some of the concepts that will be addressed include valuation of financial transactions, demography, life insurance, valuation of contingent payments, and premium calculation.
