Additional Course Info | Class Number: 1050 The structure, chemistry and function of amino acids, proteins, lipids, polysaccharides and nucleic acids; enzyme kinetics; metabolic relationships of carbohydrates, lipids and amino acids, and the control of various pathways. Lecture three hours a week. Prerequisite: CHEM B212 or CHEM H222.; The material covered in this course includes the structures and functions of biological macromolecules, enzyme catalysis, biosignaling, and primary metabolism. As a reference textbook, we will be following Stryer's Biochemistry (Seventh Edition), but any relatively recent biochemistry textbook may be used instead. Approach: Course does not meet an Approach; Haverford: C: Physical and Natural Processes (C), Natural Science (NA) Enrollment Cap: 20; This course will be taught entirely remotely. Classes will be held synchronously online and will be recorded for any asynchronous learners. |
