Additional Course Info | Class Number: 1247 The goal of this course is to introduce students to a range of topics, challenges, dilemmas, and strategies to understand and educate all learners—those considered typical learners as well as those considered “special” learners. Students will learn about: how students’ learning profiles affect their ability to learn in school from a functional perspective; how and why students’ educational experience is affected by education law (especially special education law); major issues in special education; and how to meet diverse students' needs in an inclusive classroom. Two hours of fieldwork per week required.
