Courses: Documentary Film and Approaches to Truth (ICPRH278B01)
This course explores the challenge of truth-telling in documentary film and video, through both practice and theory. What ideas and practices have documentarians engaged with to acknowledge, deny, undermine, complicate, and perhaps solve the problem of truth? Readings, film viewings, discussions, writing, and exercises in video production and editing lead to the creation of final videos by students. This is a 1.5 cr. course with two 90 min. class sessions and one 90 min. required lab session per week.
