Volunteer
Nearly 1,000 alumni help Haverford recruit prospective students, encourage support for the College's Annual Fund, organize regional Haverford events around the globe, and mentor students and graduates on everything from careers to advanced degrees. Volunteering your time and energy is a great way to stay connected to the Ford. Please let us know what interests you by completing the Volunteer Interest Form and a staff member will be in touch with you shortly to discuss ways to get involved.
Opportunities
Admission Volunteers
Admission Volunteers give the College's admissions process a more personal touch, and help Haverford locate some of the best and brightest prospective students. Responsibilities of Admission Volunteers include attending regional college fairs, interviewing prospective students, and contacting admitted students in the spring.
Regional Volunteers
Regional Volunteers help to plan faculty talks, alumni panels, service projects, happy hours, dinners, and other alumni activities across the country. Each year, volunteers convene at Regional Planning Meetings in Boston, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, New York City, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Seattle to set the schedule of alumni events for the year.
Class Volunteers
Class Volunteers play a vital role in keeping classmates connected to Haverford. Through emails, letters, and phone calls, Class Volunteers share campus news and articulate the importance of the Annual Fund to the future success of the College. Class Volunteers also help keep classmate contact information up to date and encourage Class Notes.
Reunion Volunteers
Reunion Volunteers work with a committee of classmates to help to plan and execute successful class reunions during Alumni Weekend. Reunion Committee members participate in conference calls, assist with crafting a communication plan for their class, work with Alumni Relations and Annual Giving staff members to plan class events, and contact classmates to encourage attendance at Alumni Weekend and participation in the Class Gift.
CDO (Career Development Office) Volunteers
CDO Volunteers create important links between Haverford's alumni community and current students seeking career advice and opportunities. As a volunteer, you can sponsor an extern at your place of employment, submit job or internship openings to be posted in Network News, assist with networking receptions in your region, return to campus to speak with students about your career path, or host a one-day site visit at your office.

Young Academic Alumni Lecturers
Each year, the Library, the John B. Hurford '60 Humanities Center, and Alumni Relations and Annual Giving sponsor the Young Academic Alumni Lecture Series. The series presents lectures by alumni who have chosen careers in academia and are in the final stages of writing their dissertation, are doing post-doctoral work, or are in their first few years of academic employment. For more information, please contact John Anderies.
Alumni Association Executive Committee
The Alumni Association Executive Committee (AAEC) acts as the executive arm of the Association providing leadership and direction regarding alumni affairs. The AAEC consists of a president, vice president, regional coordinators, and liaisons to various College offices.
Annual Fund Executive Committee
The Annual Fund Executive Committee (AFEC) assists the College in its fundraising efforts for the Annual Fund, Haverford's unrestricted giving program. The AFEC meets periodically through the fiscal year to provide consultative advice to the Alumni Relations and Annual Giving staff. Members serve as additional solicitors for others in their peer groups and participate in training for Class Volunteers.
