Welcome
The Writing Center at Haverford College facilitates conversations about writing-in-progress with trained peer tutors and affiliated faculty members. We aim to foster a culture of writing at Haverford that includes conversation with and feedback from peers—whether in the classroom, the dorm, or the Writing Center—as an integral part of the writing process.

At the Writing Center, peer tutors and faculty members are available to talk with you at any stage of a writing project, from brainstorming ideas and framing a thesis to polishing syntax and style. We will work with you on your writing for any course or discipline, including essays for first-year Writing Seminars, lab reports, senior theses, and personal essays for fellowships or grad school applications. We also sponsor a Writing Partners program through which you can meet weekly with a peer tutor to develop your writing skills. Faculty affiliate Barbara Hall specializes in working with multilingual students and faculty affiliate Christina Rose Dubb works primarily with senior thesis writers.
