I am a senior at Haverford College majoring in mathematics and minoring in economics. I grew up in a small town called Thomasville, North Carolina; my mother was a single mom who raised four kids, and I am the oldest of those four! Some of the greatest things about North Carolina was the fishing and the gardening I did for relaxation and reflection.
While at Haverford, I have been active as a Customs Person (CP) for the Class of 2014, Upperclassman Adviser (UCA) for the Class of 2016, former President of the Haverford College Quest Scholars Network, and current Co-President of the Bi-College Finance Club. I served as the teaching assistant for Economics 105: Introduction to Economics and Economics 214: Public Finance at Bryn Mawr College. Recently, I was featured as a contributing writer to the Bi-College Law Review on evaluating the economic impact of recent patent reforms.
I enjoyed the opportunity to take advantage of internship opportunities in the Philadelphia area through the Career Development Office (CDO). I spent the summer of 2011 working in the oil & energy industry with Sunoco, Inc. as a strategic sourcing analyst. And I spent time in the financial services industry while interning with The Vanguard Group during the summer of 2012 as a financial analyst. I was able to use my liberal arts education to create high-impact business results under pressure.
In combination with my academic experience, these career opportunities will enable me to make the best decisions about what direction I will lead my life following graduation next May!
For fun, I love board games such as Settlers of Catan, Trivial Pursuit, Rummikub, and others. I'm a total foodie and exploring the Philadelphia food scene is one of my favorite types of city adventures. And I am a big fan of live concerts downtown. Hands down, I have made great friends here and love what I do at the College!
