Welcome!
I'm a junior here at Haverford. I am an economics and political science double major with a concentration in mathematical economics. My primary academic and career intersts are education policy and other public policy. This semester, I'm taking Intermediate Microeconomics, The American Presidency, Advanced Calculus, and a junior seminar on labor markets in developing countries.
When I'm not in classes or doing work, I am often fencing. This past season, I was the sabre squad captain on the varsity fencing team and next year I will be one of the team captains. In addition to fencing, I play the trumpet in the bi-college orchestra and am currently playing in the pit orchestra for a production of Sweeney Todd.
This year, I was awarded a fellowship with the Center for the Study of the Presidency and Congress. For the fellowship, I traveled to Washington, D.C. twice to represent Haverford at conferences on leadership and governance hosted by the Center.
During the academic year, I work on campus at the information desk of the Whitehead Campus Center, where I greet visitors and answer their questions about Haverford. I am also currently TAing a statistics course in the economics department.
Last summer, I worked for Professor Anat Yom-Tov in the sociology department as a research assistant. We investigated the effects different types of social insurance programs had on people's percieved social mobility. This summer, I will be working with Professor Zachary Oberfield.
When I am not at Haverford, I live in Madison, WI.
