Religious Student Organizations

Home for the Holidays

A program developed by Haverford's Parent Volunteers (Philadelphia Region), Home for the Holidays matches students unable to go home for major holidays with local Haverford College host families. The entire Haverford student body is sent details of this program at the beginning of the school year and reminders before each holiday. Host families will welcome students to their family gatherings during Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas, Passover, and Easter. Religious Life

Baptist, Catholic, Episcopal, Friends, Lutheran, United Methodist, Presbyterian, and Jewish services are offered in the local surrounding communities. .

Students are encouraged and welcome to attend. Weekly services are also provided on campus. Jewish services for Shabbat and other religious holidays alternate between Haverford (at the Whitehead Campus Center) and Bryn Mawr (at Brecon Hall). Fifth Day Friends Meeting is held Thursdays in the Common Room of Founders Hall. Catholic Mass is held on Sunday afternoons, alternating between Haverford (at the Whitehead Campus Center) and Bryn Mawr (at Brecon Hall). Other student-run religious groups also hold services throughout the school year.
