HaverCard
We are pleased to announce that the campus laundry machines are now fully operational for use with the OneCard.
Before you begin using your OneCard you will need to have the thin magnetic stripe (junk stripe) on your card encoded.
How can I tell if my card is encoded or not?
Insert your card into either of the Cash Value Centers (one in Magill Library by the photocopiers, one in the Campus Center next to the ATM).
- If it shows a value (0.00 or otherwise) it’s encoded.
- If it reads “invalid card” – your card is not encoded.
How do I get my card encoded?
Stop by the Magill Library main desk during library hours and they will be happy to encode it for you. It only takes a few seconds and once it is done – you won’t have to do it again (unless you get a new card).
How do I add value to my OneCard?
It’s easy. Insert your card into one of the Cash Value Centers and it will show your balance. Insert cash into the fill feeder (ones, fives, tens or twenties) and the value gets added.
You can have up to a total of $25 on your card.
Can I use the library photocopiers with the OneCard?
Yes. Once you have value added to your card, you can use it in any of the library copy machines (Magill, Magill Special Collections, Science Library, and Music Library) to make photocopies.
How do I use the campus laundry equipment with these cards?
Insert your OneCard (with value on it of course) into the card readers located next to the laundry machines. Select the number if the machine that you want to activate – and you are ready to go. The value per load is automatically deducted from your card.
The laundry equipment only works with coins or the value you add to the junk stripe on the card. The laundry machines do not work with your student credit account.
Where else can I use my OneCard?
It’s OneCard for two campuses. Your Haverford OneCard (also known as the HaverCard) can be used on Bryn Mawr campus too:
- With your credit account, you can now make purchases at the Bryn Mawr Bookstore now. No more paper vouchers!
- With your junk-stripe, you can purchase soft-drinks in any of the Pepsi machines on Bryn Mawr’s campus.
New for 2007-2008
It’s been a busy summer for the OneCard office.
We have installed card readers on the exterior doors of the Foundry and Fine Arts buildings.
We have added card readers to the Haverford College Apartments (units 23, 804, 808 and 812).
Card readers have been added to the INSC “breezeway” doors located between Sharpless Hall and the INSC Link.
We signed a deal with Pepsi which adds card readers to all the Pepsi vending machines on campus.
We’re adding new things all the time - so stop back to this page from time to time for updates....
OneCard Refund Policy
Cash deposited on the OneCard is non-refundable. For this reason, card holders should treat the card the same as cash.
If you lose the card, you lose the cash on that card.
While it may be possible to transfer value from an old OneCard to a new one, if the card is damaged and cannot be read - there is no way to validate the funds on that card.
Again, if your card is broken and cannot be read by our card reader, we cannot determine how much value is on that card.
You will need to bring both your old OneCard and your new OneCard to the Magill Library Circulation desk to transfer value.
To help protect cardholders, we limit the maximum amount that can be deposited on the OneCard to $25.
If your card is lost - report it IMMEDIATELY!
If your card is lost or stolen - report it to Safety & Security. We can turn the card off so it cannot be used by anyone else.
Come by Safety & Security for a replacement card.
We’re open 24 x 7.

Replacement Fees
Your OneCard is very important. It’s not only the key to your dorm - it has lots of other functions for making purchases both here and on Bryn Mawr’s campus.
It is VERY IMPORTANT that you report your OneCard missing as soon as possible. We can turn the card off in an instant to prevent further usage.
While your initial card is free, replacements will be charged toward your student account using the following fee structure:
FIRST REPLACEMENT = $15.00
SECOND REPLACEMENT = $25.00
THIRD AND ALL SUBSEQUENT REPLACEMENTS (each) = $40.00
Please Note:
Fees, Policies and OneCard replacement office hours are subject to change.
