(12/11/06) Safety Alert: Thefts On Monday, December 4, 2006, credit cards were stolen from an unattended wallet in Magill Library. On Saturday, December 9, 2006, several students reported credit cards, and other items, stolen while attending a party at HCA. It is important for students to keep items of value on their person, or locked up, at all times. Please do not leave valuables unattended for any period of time. Notify Security immediately when suspicious persons are observed. Please also contact Security as soon as possible when you become aware of the theft. In the case of credit cards and other items with personal identifiers, there is the potential for identity theft. Security will urge you to file a police report, contact the three major credit bureaus, and to contact creditors for any accounts that have been tampered with or opened fraudulently. We will help you with the process. Thanks! Tom King
