OneCard: Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Junk Stripe?
If you look at the back of your card, you will see two magnetic stripes. The thin one is the junk stripe. You can add up to $25 to this stripe for vending and laundry services.
How do I add value to the junk stripe?
You can add funds to the junk stripe at either of the two Cash Value Centers (CVC):
- One is located in the Whitehead Campus Center by the elevator on the ground floor (between the ATM and the Pepsi machine).
- Another is located in Magill Library - ground floor near the photocopiers.
What does the other stripe on the back do?
- The thick magnetic stripe is used for meals at the dining center (with a valid meal plan) both at Haverford and Bryn Mawr College.
- It is also tied to your bookstore account for purchases at Bryn Mawr College’s bookstore (for Haverford bookstore purchases, just present the card as ID).
- If you have a Coop account, the stripe can be used for Coop purchases.
