First-Year Housing Assignments:
All first-year students are asked to complete an online Housing Questionnaire by this deadline so we can see the first-year class in its entirety. First-year students are not housed on a first come, first serve basis. Instead the Director of Residential Life and two summer student interns (upper-class students who are affiliated with the Customs program) assign students to a Customs groups in one of the first-year residences. There are six customs groups in Barclay Hall, nine in Gummere Hall, four–one in each of the four first-year buildings–in the Haverford College Apartments (HCA), and four in Tritton Hall. Our emphasis is on the make-up of the Customs group. While we understand there are numerous reasons students might want to request a specific residence hall, we place a greater value on the people who will shape your community rather than the building in which you will be living. We are seeking to create a community where students can meet new people and develop new relationships.
First-Year students will receive their housing assignments via email to their Haverford email address in late July.
