On behalf of the Office of Residential Life, the warmest of welcomes to Haverford College! We are all looking forward to your arrival and meeting you in August.

It is an exciting time with many things to think about and do as you prepare to come to Haverford in a few short months. Please know that we are here to guide and help you make Haverford your home away from home.

This page will provide you with an overview of and links to a number of important things to do and to read related to your coming to and living at Haverford.

TO DO:

1. First Forms (mandatory) ▼
   

   Once you have received your credentials and have successfully set up your Haverford email account you are asked to please complete and submit the two online First Forms. Part I: the Student Information Record (SER) from the Registrar's Office and Part II: the Housing Questionnaire from our office (the Office of Residential Life). Please note that you will need to complete all required fields before you will be able to proceed to the Housing Questionnaire. The deadline to submit these forms is Wednesday, June 19, 2013. If you think you will have a problem meeting this deadline please contact us immediately.

   Information regarding filling out the Housing Questionnaire and how this information is used.
   We will use information you provide us on your Housing Questionnaire to guide us in assigning you your housing. All first-year students are asked to complete an online Housing Questionnaire by this deadline so we can see the first-year class in its entirety. First-year students are not housed on a first come, first serve basis. Instead the Director of Residential Life and two summer student interns (upper-class students who are affiliated with the Customs program and or the Residential Life Committee) assign students to a Customs groups in one of the first-year residences. There are six customs groups in Barclay Hall, nine in Gummere Hall, four–one in each of the four first-year buildings–in the Haverford College Apartments (HCA), and four in Tritton Hall. Our emphasis is on the make-up of the Customs group. While we understand there are numerous reasons students might want to request a specific residence hall, we place a greater value on the people who will shape your community rather than the building in which you will be living. We are seeking to create a community where students can meet new people and develop new relationships.

   First-Year students will receive their housing assignments via email to their Haverford email address in late July.

2. OneCard Application (mandatory) ▼
   

   Please submit your application and accompanying photo as soon as possible but no later than the deadline of Monday, July 1, 2013. Your OneCard is your "key" to the campus. Your OneCard is your access to the residence halls and other campus buildings, your library card, your dining card, as well as your laundry and vending machine payment card. 3. Linens Program (optional) ▼
   

   Students have a number of options when it comes to providing their own linens. One such choice is the Residence Hall Linens Program that shares a portion of the proceeds each year with Haverford's Students' Council. View full details here.
