Date 2012 Semester I
August 18–26 Early Arrivals–pre-approved athletes, upper-class students affiliated with Customs Program, Tri-Co participants, and others with prior permission to arrive early. Arrival dates vary and will be provided to the approved group by the sponsoring office.
August 26, 2012 (Sunday) First-Year & New International Students arrival
August 29, 2012 (Wednesday) First-Year & New Students' residence halls officially open at 8:30 a.m.
New Students' Non-Academic Registration 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Customs (Orientation) Program begins at 4:00pm
September 2 (Sunday) Upper-class students' residence halls officially open at 10:00 a.m.
September 3 (Monday)
Labor Day
College is closed in observance of Labor Day
Dining Services: Meal Plan begins with dinner at 5:00 p.m.
September 4 (Tuesday) Classes begin at Haverford and Bryn Mawr
October 12 (Friday) Fall Break begins at 4:00 p.m. – View Fall Break Notice
Residence Halls remain open during the break. Dining services are closed. Meal Plan resumes with dinner on Sunday, Oct. 21.
October 22 (Monday) Classes resume at 8:30 a.m.
October 26 – October 28 (Friday – Sunday) Family Weekend and Homecoming
November 21 (Wednesday) Thanksgiving Break begins at 4:00 p.m. - View Thanksgiving Break Notice
Residence Halls remain open during the break. Dining services are closed. Meal Plan resumes with dinner on Sunday, Nov. 25.
November 26 (Monday) Classes resume at 8:30 a.m.
December 6 (Thursday) Mid-Year Room Draw
December 14 (Friday) Classes end
December 21 (Friday) Semester I ends at 12:00 p.m. (noon) - View the Winter Break Notice Dining Services: last meal of the day and other details TBA.
December 22 (Saturday) Residence Halls CLOSE for the Winter Break at 12:00 noon.
All students must be out of the residence halls by this time with the exception of those who have applied for and been given permission to live in Winter Break housing (athletes, international students who are unable to return home, students taking classes at U of Penn that start before HC classes.
Residence Halls remain closed during the Winter Break.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (observed)
College closed in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
Dining Services: Meal Plan resumes with dinner at 5:00 p.m.
Tuesday, January 22 Classes begin at Haverford and Bryn Mawr

March 18 (Monday) Classes resume at 8:30 a.m.

May 3 (Friday) Classes End
May 17 (Friday) Semester II ends at 12:00 p.m. (noon)
Dining Services: Haverford first-years, sophomores and juniors last meal on Haverford's meal plan is a box dinner on Friday, May 17.
May 18 (Saturday) Bryn Mawr College Commencement
May 19 (Sunday) Haverford College Commencement at 10:00 a.m.

Dining Services: Haverford seniors last meal on the meal plan will be the Commencement luncheon on Sunday, May 19.

Residence Hall Closings: The residence halls close and all students must move out of the residence halls by 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 19. Residence Halls will remain closed to students for summer. Summer rentals at HCA for students working in the area for the summer are through the Summer Programs Office.
