Professor Zadeh is an Associate Professor at Haverford College. He offers courses on Islamic intellectual and cultural history in the Department of Religion and the Program in Comparative Literature.


His areas of academic interest include: mysticism, geography, pilgrimage, encyclopedias, Persian and Arabic literary traditions, heterodoxies, material and visual cultures, scripture, translation, epistemology, and Islamic jurisprudence.


He holds a B.A. from Middlebury College, and an A.M. and a Ph.D. from Harvard University in Comparative Literature.
