It is amazing that in their battle for Islamic state in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bosnian Muslims did not kill each other. That is, of course, excluding the SRNA's reports that the massacres in Sarajevo, one in Vase Miskin street, the second one near the beer factory, and the third on the Markale maraket, were actually done by Muslims, who killed their own people for political (or in this case) religious reasons.
The fact is that there are ethnic and religious Muslims in Bosnia. The majority of Bosnian Muslims are ethnic Muslims. So the question is, again, how is it possible that on their bloody way of Jihad, Islamic fundamentalists didn't convert those non-believing Muslims, whose true name is Bosniaks and not Muslims. Instead they turned, completely unarmed, with no political or any other kind of support on Jihad against well-armed Serbia and Serbs.
It has been noted that Alija Izetbegovic's "Islamic Declaration," short book written in time when this man was concerned with the (unfair) treatment of Muslims in the communist Yugoslavia is a fundamentalist piece of work. Of course, his other and more recent book, "Islam Between East and West" is never mentioned by those claiming that Bosnian President is an Islamic fundamentalist. His policies, and the policies of the Bosnian government from the beginning of the war were pro-multicultural, multi-religious and multi-national state of Bosnia.
Today again, seeing that no one, especially the West, does not care for such mixed society in Bosnia, Alija Izetbegovic has turned more toward nationalist, but not in fundamentalist direction. That does not mean in any way that most of the Muslim population has turned the same way. On the contrary, if one observes Bosnian political scene, one can notice emergence of very powerful civic parties.
So, long-used manipulation with one book, and a couple of irrational statements made by FORMER Bosnian government officials cannot in any way represent general feeling of the Muslim (both ethnic and religious) populations.
Therefore, any attempt to portray Muslims in Bosnia as fundamentalists is absolutely ridiculous, just by a fact that most of those Muslims are not religious practicioners and believers.
