Lab work emphasizes identification of landmark features on each bone, and techniques of sexing and aging human skeletal material. Lecture introduces skeletal biology and covers the fundamentals of bioarchaeological analysis. Topics include nutrition, diet, stress and deprivation, determination of gender and age, population affinities, and principles of paleopathological identification.
