SQUASH NISRA Championships at Yale CONROY DIVISION INTERDIVISION MATCH 2/24/01 Haverford 9, Bard 0 (Chaffee Division) NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Haverford placed sixth in the Conroy Division of the 2001 NISRA Championships, defeating Columbia, 5-4, after a 6-3, tourney-opening loss to Rochester. Junior #1 Tim Saint and sophomore #2 Trey Spencer were undefeated in the weekend matches, while junior #5 Martin Lukac was the Fords' other winner versus UofR. Lukac and junior George Bulman, a 3-0 winner at #2 in the intradivision win over Bard, were named NISRA Scholar-Athletes. Senior Addy Haas and soph David Chow were double-winners at #5 and 7, respectively, versus the Lions and Red Raiders. Senior #9 David Bernfeld won at #9 against Columbia and at #6 against Bard. Junior Ryan Bowman, soph Andrew Poolman and frosh Adam Foye also recorded weekend victories. 2/4/01 Franklin & Marshall 9, Haverford 0 LANCASTER -- Junior #1 Tim Saint lost, 12-15, 13-15, 15-13, 15-13, 8-15, to the host Diplomats' Arjun Keishnan in Sunday's opening match. 2/3/01 Haverford 7, Bard 2 HAVERFORD -- Sophomore David Chow and freshman Adam Foye were 3-1 winners at second and fourth positions as Haverford picked up its third win of the season by defeating visiting Bard Saturday. Sophomore Andrew Poolman, frosh Arie Beitman and Bryan Ward, soph Shehzad Zaman and senior Ben Morris completed the victory with 3-0 wins at positions 5 through 9. In the loss to the Bronx Rams, juniors Tim Saint, George Bulman and Martin Lukac were winners at first, third and fifth positions, respectively. 1/27/01 Haverford 8, Hamilton 1 1/28/01 Yale 9, Haverford 0 NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Tim Saint, Trey Spencer and George Bulman were double winners at first through third positions to lead the Fords to a split Saturday versus Hamilton and Cal. Addy Haas, Martin Lukac, David Chow, David Bernfeld and Adam Foye were also winners against the Continentals. Saint lost a tough 13-15, 15-13, 6-15, 14-15 decision to Yale #1 Chris Olsen on Sunday. 12/7/00 Princeton 7, Haverford 0 PRINCETON -- Tim Saint and Addy Haas each took games from their respective opponents at numbers 1 and 4, but the Fords (1-7) finished first semester with a loss to the Tigers. 11/18/00 St. Lawrence 6, Haverford 3 HAVERFORD -- Junior #1 Tim Saint ran his season record to 7-0, but Haverford fell to 1-6 Saturday. Senior #8/9 Brian Simms was the other double winner for the Fords. 11/12/00 Vassar 7, Haverford 2 HAVERFORD -- Junior #1 Tim Saint upped his season record to 5-0 Sunday, and soph David Chow rebounded from a 2-0 deficit to win in five games at #6. The defending NISRA Conroy Trophy champion Fords fell to 1-4 on the season. 11/11/00 Colgate 7, Haverford 2 ANNAPOLIS -- Junior #1 Tim Saint won 3-0 and 3-2 (15-13 in game five) against his respective Colgate and USNA foes Saturday. Junior #5 Markin Lukac won, 3-0, for the Fords' other point against the Red Raiders. 11/4/00 Hobart 8, Haverford 1 ANNAPOLIS -- Junior #1 Tim Saint defeated Hobart's Sahel Anwar, 15-7, 5-8 (ret.) and GW's Jake Greenbaum, 15-3, 15-4, 15-13, to open the 2000-01 season unbeaten. Sophomores Trey Spencer (#2) and David Chow (#6), juniors Ryan Bowman (#3), Martin Lukac (#4) and Peter Law (#9), and seniors Brian Simms (#7) and David Bernfeld (#8) were also winners for the Fords (1-1) against the Colonials.
