At Haveford

music alums and Tom LloydResponding to an inviation from the new Director of Choral and Vocal Studies and Assistant Professor of Music Thomas Lloyd, alums (from left to right) Laura Munich '89, Bruce Segal '83, Anita Kaplan '80, Dane Waters (BMC '96), Eric Muther '94, Melvin Strieb '66, Joel Streim '73, and Mark Rahdert '74 performed Mendelssohn's great oratio "Elijah" on November 24, 1996 along with over 100 current students, faculty, and community members who make up the Haverford and Bryn Mawr Chorale. They were accompanied by a 40-piece orchestra of bi-college students and faculty supported by students from the Curtis Institute of Music and Temple University School of Music. Elgar's "The Music Makers" was performed on April 27, 1997 and plans are underway for a performance of Brahm's "Requim" next Fall with the combined chorales and student orchestras of Haverford, Bryn Mawr, and Penn.
