Background: Born in Brooklyn, NY, December 5, 1968.  Raised in Staten Island, NY.  Graduated from Union College, Schenectady NY, 1990 (B.S. in Psychology/Biology), UCLA, 1994 (Ph.D. in Behavioral Neuroscience).

Presently: Associate Professor of Psychology at Haverford College, Haverford, Pennsylvania.  Research on pain and the analgesic (pain inhibitory) response to stress.  See Sternberg Lab home-page.

How I got here: While at Union decided to spend the rest of my life in College. Met future husband and native Californian (Jason), developed fascination with Biological Psychology and deep-seated need to explain things to people.  Decision: go to graduate school in California, become a Biological Psychology professor at small liberal arts college.   Attended UCLA, married Jason, began research on sex differences in analgesic response to stress, finished my Ph.D.   Joined the faculty of Haverford College in 1995.
