Guidelines for the draft comments paper on two of your classmates' posted AIM chats.
1) a brief background (who's conversing with whom about what) for the first of the posted conversations (not your own) you choose, followed by a clear summary of what's covered in the conversation, what ideas are being expressed by each participant, what the emotional feeling between them seems to be, and what resolution (if any) the conversation reaches, all in about 400 words (1-2 double-spaced pages);
2) the same for a second conversation (preferably one presenting somewhat different style and content), at the same length; and
3) your comparison and contrast of the two conversations, with whatever observations you feel justified in making about why each conversation takes the form it does (e.g., type of relationship between the two people, sensitivity of the topic being discussed, desire to be clever/risque/sincere). If you can, explain how these conversations are different, because of the IM medium, from what they would be via email, phone, or some other means of communication.
