Optional Writing Assignments

Three times during the quarter, I will post a thought question to ensure that you are keeping up with the readings and lecture material, and are thinking about what you have learned. Each question will require a thoughtful essay-style answer (one or two paragraphs), and will be graded on a 0-4 scale. When you sit down to answer the question, you must do so as if you were taking an exam. CLOSED BOOK, CLOSED NOTES. Do not attempt the question if you have not completed the reading on which it is based (this information will be provided before you access the question). You will have 48 hours from the time the question is posted to submit a response. I will strive for quick feedback for each question, however, my ability to do so will depend on the volume of responses to each question. However, frequently posting well-thought out responses to these questions will almost certainly guarantee a boost to your final grade.
