1. What type of love, based on the Sternberg (1986) model, would arranged marriages fit into? Would this change over time?

2. According to Xiaohe and Whyte (1990), one theory of arranged marriages is that "love matches start out hot and grow cold, while arranged marriages start out cold and grow hot." a. What do you think about this theory? b. What evidence do Xiaohe and Whyte (1990) provide to refute this theory? c. How does this theory relate to Interdependence theory? Self-expansion theory?

3. How do individualism and collectivism relate to arranged marriage (i.e., differences between Eastern and Western cultures)?
