Assistant Professor of Psychology

Haverford College invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor of Psychology, specializing in behavioral neuroscience.

The Department of Psychology at Haverford College seeks a tenure-track assistant professor specializing in behavioral neuroscience, broadly defined. Possible areas of scholarship include, but are not limited to, learning and memory, psychopharmacology, developmental neuroscience, and social neuroscience. Researchers who use animal models to address brain-behavior relationships are especially encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will be able to teach a diverse student body effectively at all levels of the psychology curriculum (introductory psychology, statistics and research methods, biological psychology, advanced specialty courses in the candidate’s area of expertise, laboratory classes, and supervising senior research) and will establish a theoretically and methodologically sophisticated research program that can meaningfully include undergraduates in the research process. This position contributes key courses to an interdisciplinary neuroscience minor. The PhD should be complete prior to the start of the position in fall 2015, and preference will be given to candidates with post-doctoral experience or those who are otherwise able to demonstrate the ability to establish a successful independent research program.
