Institutional Effectiveness

At Haverford College, we identify our direction and measure our progress through a holistic process of assessment and planning. Decision-making is informed by data collected and analyzed by a number of departments; one such department, the Office of Institutional Research, also coordinates accreditation activities. Haverford College has been accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education since 1921.


Charting our direction and identifying key issues at all levels across the College engage a broad series of voices and results in clear, coherent and achievable priorities. Planning is monitored and revised through detailed assessment processes.


The examination and evaluation of our policies, practices, and student learning outcomes are crucial to comprehensive institutional improvement, implemented through evidence-based planning.


Haverford College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. The College completed the most recent self-study in 2010, and will be submitting the Periodic Review Report in 2015.
