Go to www.KhanAcademy.org, scroll down to the lectures on Statistics, and watch the following lectures (each averages about 12 minutes long):

Hypothesis testing and p-values  (This contains some review, but that’s good after break.)

One-tail and two-tail tests (Watch only the first 45 seconds and the last 60 seconds.)

z-statistics vs. t-statistics  (Watch only the first 45 seconds and the last 30 seconds.)

Type I errors (Watch only the first 40 seconds.)

Small sample hypothesis test 

You can, of course, use Mathematica or Excel to do the t-statistic calculation, or you can look up a t-table like he uses, for example on Wikipedia look up “Student’s t-distribution”, and scroll to the bottom of the page.
