Welcome to Astro Lunch

UNFORTUNATELY I AM ON THE JOB MARKET THIS YEAR, AND I WILL NOT HAVE TIME TO ORGANIZE ASTRO LUNCH THIS TIME AROUND. MY APOLOGIES FOR THE INCONVENIENCE.

SINCERELY,

JORGE MORENO

Please join us each week for Astro Lunch, an informal meeting where students, postdocs, and faculty chat about astronomy. The format is designed to benefit our students (all undergraduate) and enhance their participation. Each week, a student chooses a paper from astro-ph and presents it to the rest of us. The paper is announced a week in advance and the student is coached by one of our faculty members.

We also discuss recent events in astronomy, conferences and our own research. Visitors are always welcome, either to give an informal talk or just to have a pleasant lunch with us. Suggestions are always welcome!

Times: Every Wednesday at 12:30pm.

Location: Campus Center, Room TBA.

Lunch: sadly, not provided.

  • WEEKLY MENU: Thursday, April 16, 2009.

Title: "High-resolution X-ray spectroscopy of the winds of massive stars".

Speaker: David H. Cohen (Swarthmore College).

    Location: Strawbridge Observatory

    Time: 12:30 pm.
