Place a racquet ball in the liquid nitrogen for several minutes. Remove the ball with tongs and either throw against the floor or smash with hammer.

Hazards: Warn students about the temperature of the pieces. Also warn if you are going to break it on the wall. Frozen pieces could hit the students in the face. I stronly suggest either breaking the ball on the floor or hitting it with a mallet on the lecture table.
