Stitch n Bitch
SnB is a casual, non-exclusive social group for knitters and crocheters, fiber and fabric artists, and crafters of all kinds!
SnB meets once a week on Thursdays from 8-9pm in Apartment 23 1A (or James House, depending on turn-out), to knit/craft for a cause. Falling under the umbrella of 8th Dimension, SnB has a general mission of providing knitwear for the less fortunate, but in the 2011-2012 year will have two large, specific projects for participants.
You can also come and bring your own projects! Participation in the service project is not mandatory, but simply a means to give the group some structure.
This fall we will be working on scarves for the Red Scarf Project, which provides Valentines care packages to foster kids in college. The spring project is up for debate.
We also usually take at least one field trip to local yarn stores in Philadelphia. My personal favorites are Loop Yarn on South Street and Rosie's Yarn Cellar on Locust Street.
Occasionally we have a guest gymnast/break dancer show up to eat our food and entertain us.
Contact Elinor (ehickey@haverford.edu) if you have any questions, or just show up! Once we decide on date/time for weekly meetings, I will update this page.
