Our beginnings: With two male a cappella groups and only one female group existing prior to The Outskirts, our formation in 2001 created balance in the a cappella community and opportunity for more women to share their voices.
The Outskirts NOW: You’ll be hard pressed to find a more unique, vibrant, or sassy group of women with the same dedication and caliber of musicianship that the Outskirts possess. We’re looking forward to bringing great a cappella to Haverford and the broader music community in coming years.
In the past 10 years, the Outskirts have grown to become a presence in East Coast a cappella, going on tours from DC to Boston.

The 'Skirts perform music of all genres, from R&B to pop, jazz, and funk. No matter what we always have our groove on and we always perform our own or our friends' arrangements. Our focus is on creativity, musicality, and overall fun!
We strive to make connections within and outside of the Haverford community, drawing in visiting music groups to provide a richer musical experience for all.
