The Origami Club was founded in 2006 in response to a local farming disaster. When a farmer lost his entire year's crop to a rapacious species of avids imported from Africa, a band of Haverford origami enthusiasts converged for a relief effort. Not only did the club fold the farmer's entire crop for that year, it also created a zoo of origami ladybugs to keep the avids in check. Since that time the club has continued to fold for both practical and irrational reasons. Recent club project's have included an origami microwave and stud-finder.
