Haverford's Best Practice Space!
The band room is a musical practice space for bi-co students, located in the oh-so-scenic DC basement. Reservations can be made via this spreadsheet. Please be mindful of other students when making weekly reservations (e.g. not cool to take 6pm to midnight every Thursday) and be sure to make all reservations at least 24h in advance. Please include your email in the "CONTACT "column of the spreadsheet when making your first reservation. In the case where there is no reservation and one group comes and finds another group in the room, talk to each other! Maybe they'll be done in 30min and then you can have the room. Maybe they'll be happy to let you in on their jam session. Music is a constant conversation! Don't be havershy. :)
To get permanent onecard access to the band room, please contact one of the co-heads (see "Contacts" on the right of this page). Note that only Haverford and Bryn Mawr students may be granted access.
Please leave the room in the same state you found it! No DC cups lying around, no trash, no personal items (musical or not) strewn across the floor and couch, and so forth. However, the band room mics and their cables may be left standing. Note that the room in the back is a storage space. Feel free to use the cubbies to keep your instruments, cases, amps, etc. but again, please avoid blocking the passage with your stuff.
Finally, if you don't want people to use your stuff, either leave it in the cubbies in the back room or label it! And if you use an item that is not yours, whether or not you believe it to be the band room's, treat it with care! Musical material is expensive, and it really sucks to find your beautiful amp broken with no clue as to who the culprit was. The Honor Code applies to the band room too!
