Haverford's only laughing club
The point of laughing club will be to de-stress, have fun and reap all of the benefits of laughter. It will be like a mild form of laugh therapy. We will share Youtube videos, practice our stand up comedy, do skits, laugh and have fun. The club is meant to be a relaxing place so it will not be hard, there will be no homework and the only rule is that you leave smiling.
Some of the benefits of laughter include: • Boost the immune system and circulatory system • Enhance oxygen intake • Stimulate the heart and lungs • Relax muscles throughout the body • Trigger the release of endorphins (the body’s natural painkillers) • Ease digestion/soothes stomach aches • Relieve pain • Balance blood pressure • Improve mental functions (i.e., alertness, memory, creativity) • Improve overall attitude • Reduce stress/tension • Promote relaxation • Improve sleep • Enhance quality of life • Strengthen social bonds and relationships • Produce a general sense of well-being
