HAVERFORD WELCOMES NEW STAFF

Teisa Brown joins the Office of the Provost as Haverford’s new Assistant to the Provost for Faculty Services. Working from her office in Founders 030, she is responsible for supporting both the provost and associate provost, working directly with faculty members on various committees, and managing the academic departments’ administrative assistants. She comes to Haverford from the Office of the President at Eastern University.

Margaret Gindhart is Institutional Advancement’s new Gift Planning Manager, in Founders 201. She is responsible for ensuring that planned gifts to Haverford College are processed and administered according to donors’ wishes. Prior to her arrival at Haverford, Margaret spent some time working in the pharmaceutical industry, and also spent many years with both the Treasurer’s Office at the University of Pennsylvania and the Trust Division of CoreStates Bank. She has a great deal of experience working with philanthropic donors, and looks forward to bringing that experience to bear in both aiding alumni with their financial plans and helping the College meet its development goals.

Margaret, a native of Drexel Hill, is currently enjoying her short commute to the College from her home in Coopertown, where she can often be found (or not found, as the case may be) shuttling her two children from sporting event to sporting event. She is an avid gardener with a particular passion for white oaks and other large trees, and she is extraordinarily grateful for the view of Founders Green from her office window.

Michael Goetz comes to Haverford Institutional Advancement from Saint Joseph's University, his alma mater, where he was the Assistant Director of Alumni Relations. He is now working in Founders 307 as Haverford's Associate Director of Annual Giving and is responsible for encouraging participation and giving among young alumni, as well as being a primary contact for the class chairs and reunion committee volunteers from the classes of 1990 through 2005. Michael will also be working with students; both those on the senior class gift committee and those staffing the Phonathon.

Michael's interests are varied, but he is particularly proud of his involvement in music and politics. He sings with the Philadelphia Gay Men's Chorus, makes frequent trips to Philadelphia Orchestra performances, and is a steadfast supporter of Hillary Clinton's platform and career. Michael hails originally from Clifton Park, New York, a suburban town halfway between Albany and Saratoga Springs, but currently lives in Philadelphia's Old City. He commutes to Haverford by train; an experience he enjoys sharing with a number of his fellow employees. He is glad to make the trip each morning, secure in the knowledge that he is doing important, meaningful work for a college whose mission, history, and community values he believes in.

Liz Kittleman is no stranger to Haverford College, as she grew up in Wynnewood and is a 1994 graduate of the Shipley School. This will be her second season as Haverford’s assistant women’s lacrosse coach, and she has also spent some time on the support staff in the Office of Admission. However, this September she joins Haverford’s academic staff full-time as the Assistant to the Provost, in Founders 109. In her new position, she is responsible for supporting the provost and associate provost, as well as handling various administrative responsibilities for the College’s faculty as a whole.

Liz spent four years living in San Francisco and coaching lacrosse at Stanford prior to coming to Haverford. She has returned to the area because she knew that coaching at a Divison III school would give her insight into college administration, and also because the idea of working at Haverford College appealed to her, as a native — the College has always been a part of her life, and she looks forward to being a contributing piece of its atmosphere of stimulation and growth.
