UPDATE
“Educating
to Lead, Educating to Serve” Campaign Enters Final Weeks
As we enter the final weeks of the "Educating
to Lead, Educating to Serve" campaign, I am writing to all
Committee of One Hundred members to thank you for the leadership
role you have played in this effort. When we envisioned the Committee
initially, we considered that perhaps membership would number one
hundred sturdy friends who made six figure or higher gifts; today,
we are nearly two hundred strong!
With your support, we have successfully completed
the Koshland Integrated Natural Sciences Center, have begun construction
on the Douglas B. Gardner Athletic Center, created the Peace and
Global Citizenship Center and the Hurford Humanities Center, offered
new scholarships to students, and doubled the dollars given to the
annual fund, with participation at record levels.
Today, verbal commitments place us within $5 to 7
million dollars of our goal. I know that all of you have stretched
significantly and have responded with deep generosity when asked
to support Haverford. Mindful of this, but confident that you will
understand, I seek your assistance and ask you to consider helping
us meet the critical $200 million goal by June 30.
As you know, there are various ways to give and flexible
opportunities for pledge payments. Estate notes that commit bequest
intentions and gifts of tangible personal property such as art or
real estate also count toward the campaign goal. If there is any
way that you can help at this time, please go to the Haverford
website or contact Jill
Sherman, Diane
Wilder, Steve
Kavanaugh, or me.
All of us can offer help as you consider a final gift to this campaign.
Please remember all gifts and pledges will be matched
one-to-one by the Board Challenge Fund.
We are SO close to the finish line. Let's cross it
together...and celebrate our achievements soon thereafter!
With sincere appreciation,
Tom Tritton
Final Push
for 2003-04 Annual Fund
There are fewer than 10 days remaining to make your
gift to the Haverford Fund during fiscal year 2003-04. Please remember
that each gift helps our overall annual giving participation percentage
and all gifts and pledges will be matched by the Board of Managers
through the Board Challenge Fund.
All gifts and pledges made by June 30, 2004, will
count toward the $200 million “Educating to Lead, Educating
to Serve” goal.
