ALUMNI OF COLOR OFFER ADVICE
On Saturday, February 21, some of Haverford’s
distinguished alumni of color will discuss their careers and life
after college with current undergraduates in a panel discussion
entitled “Navigating Life and Career.”
Among the speakers will be Jacqueline Brady ’89,
Vice President of GMAC Institutional Advisors, and Derek Tate ’92
and Paula Brathwaite ’94, physicians at the Long Island Jewish
Medical Center and at Boston’s Lahey Clinic Medical Center,
respectively. Also appearing will be Pedro Urquilla ’00, a
computer network specialist with a unique weekend job as a hip-hop
artist who goes by the name “DJ Eurok.” Attorneys will
also be prominently featured at the event. Carolyn L. Hann ’94,
Michael A. Hicks ’78, Thomas B. Mulhern ’95 and May
Mon Post ’95 will all speak. Haverford looks forward to welcoming
these accomplished alumni back to campus to learn their strategies
for successful careers
“Navigating Life and Career” will be
held from 10:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. in Gest 101. Immediately following
the discussion, students are invited to lunch at the Dining Center.
Student participants will then divide into groups according to gender
for workshops with the panel members.
This event is sponsored by the Haverford Multicultural
Alumni Committee and the Office of Alumni Relations, and is free
