A Message From Dean Martha Denney About Drug Arrests
Dear Haverford Parents,
I write to fill you in on what is happening on the Haverford campus in light of the news you have likely read, that two of our students have been arrested on charges that they have been part of a local drug distribution ring. While it appears that our students did not play a major role in the network, nor were they involved with any of the more dangerous substances identified, we are nevertheless taking this very seriously and have initiated an internal investigation. Our primary concern is, of course, the safety and well-being of our students, and we have reached out to them to offer our resources during a time that is already stressful due to impending deadlines and finals.
The individuals who have been identified in the press are not on campus, and we have no reason to believe that there is any increased danger to our community as a result of the activity in which they were involved. That being said, we remain vigilant and attentive, committed as always to providing a safe and supportive space for your students to live and work.
With all best wishes,
Martha J. Denney
Dean of the College
