Michael Riccio named Haverford House Fellow


The Center for Peace and Global Citizenship (CPGC) is pleased to announce the 2013-2014 Haverford House Fellows. These six fellows, who were selected for their commitment to social justice and community action, will serve one-year terms and work four days per week with non-profit organizations in our region. Fellows dedicate their fifth workday to projects that engage the College with Greater Philadelphians devoted to a more just, healthy and vibrant community.

The 2013-2014 Haverford House Fellows and their host organizations are:

Jemma Benson, anthropology major: Puentes de Salud, Hacia El Futuro fellow.

Hannah Brower, psychology major: Center for Hunger-Free Communities, Drexel University School of Public Health, research and advocacy fellow.

Bridget Gibbons, political science major: Community Legal Services, housing unit paralegal.

Sumin Park, chemistry major: Project H.O.P.E., case management and outreach fellow.

Michael Riccio, sociology major: Community Legal Services, employment paralegal.

Benjamin Van Son, psychology major: HIAS Pennsylvania, refugee housing and basic needs coordinator.

Haverford House Fellows share a home in the Cedar Park neighborhood of West Philadelphia. They serve both as liaisons between the CPGC and social action agencies and as mentors to and collaborators with Haverford students, staff and faculty.
