IITS Spring Break Workshops

The Instructional Technology and Training group of IITS is offering three workshops during the spring break. If you want to attend any of the workshops, please contact the ITT group:

iPad for Classroom
Date: Monday, March 11
Time: 11:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m.
Location: Instructional Technology Center, Stokes 205
An iPad can become a powerful resource for the learning environment with the help of a few applications. Come and see how this 10” (or less) device can become one’s interactive whiteboard, document organizer, annotator, communicative device, and more.

Share Video with Kaltura
Date: Tuesday, March 12
Time: 10:00 a.m.  - 11:00 a.m.
Location: Instructional Technology Center, Stokes 205
Because videos are often very large, it can be difficult to share videos files the same way you might share a word document or even a photograph. The large size makes it hard to simply upload or download files. IITS has a special tool, Kaltura, to help you share your videos. Kaltura is good for both classroom video assignments and event recordings that you want to share with other people. During this workshop, you will learn how to upload videos to Kaltura and share them through Moodle.

Panopto, Not Just for Lecture Capture Anymore
Date: Tuesday, March 12
Time: 11:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m.
Location: Instructional Technology Center, Stokes 205
In addition to capturing lectures, Panopto can be used for event recordings. You can record the computer screen, iPad, or PowerPoint slide presentation, along with audio and video. The recording can be automatically uploaded to a Moodle course once the recording is completed!
We recently bought a swivl camera stand which provides a way to let the video camera automatically pan as the speaker moves around the room. Come and learn how you can use Panopto for your next event.

If you have any questions, please contact us. Thank you.

The Climbing Stone, by Peter Rockwell '58, is located outside Magill Library.
