Teaching opportunities in Spain

CIEE is excited to announce that beginning in fall 2013, we will offer teaching placements in the community of Madrid and expanded placement options in the region of Andalusia, Spain, for our Teach in Spain programs. Through this expansion, CIEE is providing hundreds of additional opportunities for U.S. college graduates to teach English in Spanish public schools, assisting these schools in their efforts to improve the English language skills and cultural competence of their students.

CIEE has operated the Teach in Spain program for six years in partnership with the regional government in Andalusia. During this time, the efforts of these two organizations have resulted in improved performance and retention of language and cultural assistants in the region. With the expansion, CIEE will now partner with the regional government in the community of Madrid to offer additional placements.

Participants of CIEE's Teach in Spain programs receive:

* Pre-departure advising
* Paid position in a Spanish public school
* Visa paperwork procurement and assistance
* Pre-departure webinars to prepare for departure
* On-site group orientation with introduction to Spain, the school system, and teaching methodologies
* iNext travel insurance
* Support services for the duration of the program
* Continued connection to fellow participants and CIEE's global alumni network of Teach Abroad participants, including access to professional development and networking opportunities

To promote the expansion of the Teach in Spain program, CIEE is offering 20 teaching grants to participants to help fund program fees and travel costs. Each grant will be worth $400 and will be awarded based on a short essay submitted with the program application. These grants are part of CIEE's ongoing commitment to improving access to high-quality international experiences.

Now is the time to apply to Teach in Spain for a fall 2013 departure!

Applications are open and will be accepted on a rolling basis. Though CIEE can't guarantee placement in a specific location, we strive to meet the regional placement requests of our participants whenever possible.
